My jeep won't idle when I turn it on I need to keep my foot on the gas for it to stay running.

That's because the battery was recently disconnected or run dead. The Engine Computer has to relearn "minimum throttle" before it will know when it has to be in control of idle speed. Until then, it may be hard to start unless you hold the accelerator pedal down 1/4", it won't give you the nice idle flare-up to 1500 rpm, and it will want to stall at stop signs.

To meet the conditions for the relearn to take place, drive at highway speed with the engine warmed up, then coast for at least seven seconds without touching the pedals.

It won't stay running at all when parked unless I have the gas pedal on? Is there anyway I can get it to idle while parked?
