I am having shifting issues with my automatic transmission 4wd it shifts hard and tends to neutralize when in drive. I had the transmission service and Aamoco states it needs rebuilt. My problem is that if it acts up I can turn it off and restart right away than the problem goes away. I figured both of these parts are cheap compared to the $2500 to have it rebuilt so why not try them. I am also having a hard time finding a repair manual if anyone knows of one.

Your neutral switch is probably on thetrans, its called a mode switch.I seeno inter motor relay however. If hte trans people tell you needs an overhaul then tha tis probalby what wrong as you say it nuetralizes while in drive. That's called slipping and it's eitehr a seal going bad or the clutches are worn out especially if they found a lot of junk in the pan.
