I need to replace the 2-3 shift solenoid in my 97 jimmy which one is it?

I know I have to drop the tranny pan and they are right there, but there is a 1-2 and a 2-3 shift solenoid right next to each other?

If you really think this is the problem then here is the valve body diagram. 2-3 solenoid is Number 12 on the chart as explained. But keep in mind that there have been ignition switch problems that have caused the same problem. And buying a solenooid and installing it may not fix the problem, especially if somethingelse is wrong in the trans. There is a TSB on the ignition switch for your model truck. If you replace it you will have to go through the security relearn process.
