I bought this jimmy used but the trans had been rebuilt so I thought I would take a chance. I'm constantly putting new parts on it, battery, starter, water pump, theromstat, alternator. My newest problem started 2 weeks ago, I was trying to accelerate to pass a car when my service engine light came on. I took it to auto rparts store to have codes read, it was showing a code for a misfire. Had mechanic friend replace wires, plugs and distributor cap. Shortly after tune up, my gear shifter locks in park. Used the bypass so I could drive it home. Possible problem is my brake light switch needs to be replaced but my brake lights are coming on. Mechanic friend says it can't be switch but that seems small compared to my latest problem: the jimmy sputtering when it's idling, and seems to have trouble going up hills like it's losing power, battery is only 3 months old, but battery light is coming on. I just replaced alternator, but my alternator is reading low on volts. I'm stumped. What can it be? I'm about to park it and just walk to work
