Subframe is rusted and axle fell out

We rewelded the sub-frame in a 97 Geo Metro LSI because it had rusted apart. Both sides were welded. We took it for a drive, after driving a mile or so passenger side wheel axle came out of transmission because the area where frame bolts to body of car tore away from rust.

Some more welding to do? You may want put an extra cross plate between mounts for extra strength?

You can google geo metro frame repair and do a lot of reading/ideas. It's been done before.
