I have a 1997 ford Taurus. I need to know how to connect the black wire to the starter if the plastic connector is broken. Where and how can I connect the black wire?

The starter itself is fine. The plastic connector from the engine compartment is broken. Does ford sell a connector to replace the broken one?

Hello,

The small black wires going to the starter solenoid. Here is a video and a diagram (below) for the job being done to show you whats up.

The car is not the same but is has the same engine set up on the video.

Please let us know if you need anything else to get the problem fixed.
That should be a female spade connector, you can get hem from any auto parts store, just crimp anew one onto the trigger wire and plug it into the starter

Cheers, Ken
