My Husband has a 1997 Ford Escort LX. He pulled out of the driveway the other day in reverse, Switched to drive & It shut off. It has not started since. It DOES turn over. I have just replaced the spark plugs & Wires today & Still nothing. We put starting fluid in the air filter & We have also listened & It sounds like the fuel pump IS working. Also jumped the car & Nothing. Can you please help us to figure out what could be wrong? Could it maybe be fuel filter?

Check your timing belt. Cause it could have broke.
