Hi I drive a uno fire 1.1 and I reinstalled almost every part in my engine last year but recently my car keeps switching off when I slow down at traffic lights or stops. I thought it was the break booster but when I pump the breaks the car stays idling and when I accelerate in 1st gear it moves then dies. What can be the problem?

Check idle control motor, does it hold a steady idle when you first stat it up?

Hi yes it holds a steady idle I tuned it a bit high. When I tune the idling and turn the air screw completely closed the car does not shut down. A mechanic told me air might be escaping somewhere on the carb but do you think it can be the screw?

So this is a carby engine, ok, check to see if it has an idle solenoid and check for vacuum leaks around the base of the carby and check all vacuum lines, start here.
