I turn car to on position and no dash lights come on then I try to start it and theres nothing. Since I ve had the car six years now I ve had to replace the battery alot. I think theres a short some where slowly draing the battery. But just recently I ve been having problems with the ignition when I go to turn it over, I replaced the key it seemed to help at first but starting to do the same thing, not wanting to turn, the other day when I opened the door it started making a clicking noise from the ignition. Its never done that before. Oh yeah I have a chrysler seabring convertiable 1997

In short it sounds like you have a dead batt and it has a draw on it that keeps making it go dead.

Really, I think I have a little more common sense then that okay. Im trying to figure out what the heck is draining my battery from whatever might still be taking power after the cars off, or im not sure if I just have to find where my starter wires run and connect and just clean thoses off if there corroeded and my battery cables too. Also my ignitions been acting up lately and im not sure if that could be causing it if I need to replace the ignition. Thanks for trying to help though, sorry if I was rude but this car has me frustrated. Its been a problem pretty much since ive owned the car. And thats awhile. I know theres a short somewhere witch is pry doing it.

Well to find a draw you have to know how to use a meter and see how many milla amps its pulling, its not that easy to find a draw. Try the easy things first like trunk light-clove box light-hood light, anything that might be pulling on the batt when the car is off. After market radio.

Also I was readind to see if I need to replace my ignition switch, one site told me to turn the key to the one position and if the dash lights dont come on then that could mean my ignition switch needs replaced. Latly I have been having problems wit that to sometimes it dont want to turn when I try starting it, I got a new key made cuz somone told me that could be caused by worn key, that seemed to help at first I think but now its kinda doing same thing. And the other day I needed a jump to start my car all I did was open door and I started hearing a clicking noise coming from ignition switch where u put key in. I never heard it do that before. So that leaves me with more questions, what do u think about that if I need to replace that or something

Do you or a friend have a Multi meter with Amp reading on it and know how to use it, if so I will advise on finding the current draw.
