I have a 1997 chrysler sebring jxi 2.5 with an intermitent problem. It seems to start ok most of the time but sometimes you go to start it and it won't start. I replaced the battery so I know the battery is good but when it won't start, if I jump it, it will start.
Sometimes you can just wait a while and it will start without jumping it.

Next time it doesn't crank, observe the brightness of the head lights or dome light before and during cranking. If they go out or become dim, suspect dirty battery cable connections.

More commonly, if you hear one single kind of loud clunk from the starter but it doesn't spin the engine, (and the lights stay bright), suspect the solenoid contacts in the starter. They can be replaced for 20 bucks, but most people just replace the entire starter.
