1997 Chevrolet S-10 Replace Engine or Rebuilt ENGINE

The cylinder Head on the engine is stop up with carbon. Should I get the engine take a part and clean. And when put back together. Or while Iam in it just replace parts what parts should I replace can give me a list. And if I buy a rebuilt engine where a good place to buy one that will be like oem. Any help will be Thank

There are products that will clean the carbon from the engine. Have you checked on that?

They didn't help? If you are replacing the head or cleaning it, removal is a last resort. However, make sure to replace all gaskets, timing chain, and I would recommend having the head checked to make sure it is true and flat.

Can you explain what the vehicle is doing? I would hate to see you remove the head if it isn't needed.

PO401 code change EGR still get this code. Put a carmer down the Cylinder and it stop up.
