1997 Chevrolet Lumina tranmission want shift

When taking off in the car sound like the tranmission is slipping and wiill not automatic shift from low to high but when I use the shift control lever to shift from drive 1 to drive 2 the tranmission will shift with no problem and no slipping, the fluid and filter been change and the modulator no engine lights on what could be the cause why the tranmission want automatic shift from low to high?

Have a trans guy look at it it's probably a valve body problem in trans.

The tranmission was shifting good but when I replace the spark plugs and wires that when I start having tranmission problem could I have did something wrong when I replace the spark plugs and wires?

Check your firing order or the engine does run right is about the only thing.
