Ticking/knocking around belt area could it be spark plug misfire

Is the engine running smoothly? Usually a misfire won't cause a tick. Closely check the belt to make sure nothing is shreading. If it looks good, remove the belt and start the engine to see if the noise is gone. If it is, check the belt driven accessories for a bearing problem. NOTE: ONLY RUN THE ENGINE FOR A FEW SECONDS WITHOUT THE BELT. IT WILL OVERHEAT.
