The windshield wipers do not work. They were working fine before it got stolen and when I got my car back they were not working any more. I have checked all of the fuses and even had to replace the combo switch because the washer motor would stay on. I thought that might have been the problem, but they still do not work. What should I check as my next step? I am guessing the wiper motor.

Do you hear the motor running? If so, it could be linkage related. If not, locate the motor and try wiring direct to current to bypass the switch. If the motor works, it is wiring and or switch.

I was dinking under the steering wheel and must have loosened a connection because my open door light is always on, the interior function on the windshield wipers does not work, nor does the rear defrost button, and the sound warnings for when my lights are left on do not work. So I guess my question is what connection did I knock loose, unplug, or short, where is it located. Thanks

Check for loose ground cables or connectors. You may also want to check your fuses.

It is a 1995. I think F4I is right with the loose ground, but I do not know where to look. My Open Door Warning Light is only on when my dome light is switched to only be on when the doors are open. But it does not turn on.

The dome light is grounded at the light assembly itself and is not related to any other ground circuits. To check the dome light ground.

The door ajar light is not related to an open ground, in fact it is caused by the door switch wire being grounded or the door is not closing correctly to leave the switch activated.

Ground for intermittent wiper is located at left side of instrument panel.

Intermittent wiper relay is also controlled by the integrated control plugged into the fuse box.

Four cylinder front wheel drive manual 247,000 miles.

My car has electrical problems like the windshield wipers stopped working and most of the wiring is jerry rigged from the person that owned it before me. When running the air conditioner at the same time driving it it starts to overheat so I am wondering what to do?

Hi there,

With a problem like this you need to see the problem first hand. Any non standard wiring alterations can be a real nightmare at best of times and to try and unravel this from here is just impossible. You will have to have a mechanic to check this out for you.
