What weight oil? Does it do it hot or cold? Does it get louder on rev/acceleration? Can you hear it at idle?

Runs normal not or cold don't know what weight oil is used. It only sounds like a rod knocking at idale and low speeds.

Idle means lower oil pressure. Do you have a gauge? Or get the pressure tested. Enough miles for worn parts. If it does not increase in loudness with load/rpm then not likely a rod bearing.
