1996 Toyota Tacoma Fix Low Fuel Indicator Light On Gas Ran Out Because Lower

how do i fix the low fuel indicator light? I was low on gas, and ran out because it was lower than i thought. Is it a bulb, or fuse, or what?
Also, the gear indicator light is off when it is in Drive....Please help

most likely in the sender unit in the tank.
