I am working on a 96 toyota camry. First of all the transmission was ran out of fluid and then driven several miles, fluid was then put back in.

Problems are:In park wont rev past 2500rpm.
In reverse wont rev past 2500, is locked up acts like park.
In neutral it drives like in D, not shure why.
In drive it acts fine and goes through all gears smoothly
Every thing else is normal.
I have rebuilt several transmissions before so I will be taring in to it.
Just need some input on clutch band application. Thanks

It sounds like the linkage is out of adjustment. Have you checked that?

Yes linkage is fine. Suspect forward or reverse clutch warped from heat what do you think?

Is this a manual or automatic? I was thinking manual because an automatic wouldn't move without fluid.

Forward clutches fried together. Thats why reverse was locked.
In a clutch band chart the forward clutches would be applied in all forward gears and released in reverse, neutral, park.
