1996 4Runner - Manual clutch pedal does not return all the way up. Leads to not enough pedal to disengage the clutch. If I lift up on it it is fine. Is there a return spring?

How many miles on the clutch assembly? There should be a return spring, plus the fingers on the pressure plate should cause the pedal to return completely. Also check the linkage for binding.
