Opel Sintra power steering malfunction, what can I do?

The power steering is failing while driving, I have to force the steering until the power steering kicks in again, my guess is that the hydraulic oil is leaking away, in that case I would like to know where and how to refill the hydraulic oil.
also maybe how to repair the problem.

Our database does not have any information on your vehicle so I do not know the exact system used.

I believe it should be hydraulic and if you look under the hood, you should see a reservoir, near the engine end. Check the fluid level. If it is low, top up and retest. Check for leaks. If the fluid level is correct, check the drive belt tension. A loose belt would result in squealing and heavy steering.
