I had to replace the fuel pump 2 in 4 months they said it burnt out. They told me it was the fuel pump originally when I went to the gas station and then it wouldnt start back up again. So I fixed it and 4 months later it happened again they told me that it had burnt out for driving with less then half a tank of gas then 3 weeks after fixing that I went to start the car it backfired and then when it started the rpms go all the way up and stays there. The gas hose near the engine is leaking out gas when the car is started they told me because theres to much gas coming through and it can be several different things but I dont know if I believe them anymore. They listed the throttle cabe, vaccum hose leak, relay switch, idle control motor, I am a single mom and dont have alot ofmoney to keep dishing out. If you have any idea on what the problem is I would much appreciate your input thanks.

The Idle Air Control most likely. How high to RPMs go at idle? 1000-1500? All they listed are possible. The backfire was that out exhaust or intake ie. Underhood? Gas leak must be repaire dangerous it would not be caused by"to much gas getting through" maybe a second opinion from another shop is needed.

IAC on throttle body that would be where air snorkle is attached. Look for any hose that is off and the throttle plate if it is closed ie. Cable has no slack and throttle lever open. Running engine at 7Grand will damage engine so do you know anybody that can look at car that has some knowledge?
