I have a 1996 Mazda truck, for a time oil leaks into the antifreeze reservoir and then on to the radiator, car still runs OK, but then I noticed the engine not making a full sound, like half of engine is only operating, like when airplane shuts off engine when ready to land. I can still drive, but afraid something can happen if I don't have it fixed. When I took car for oil change, mechanic said need to change belt, not sure what belt.

If you're getting engine oil into the coolant, then you could have a very serious problem and it cannot be driven that way. That could be a blown head gasket or cracked head among other things. It needs to be checked out thoroughly and the cooling system cleaned out thoroughly.
