My upper inlet transmission line pressure fitting is leaking. It has a quick-disconnect on the trans cooler side. I can't get it off for anything. I squeezed the retaining clip like my Hanes manual said and to no avail; I pushed both together and then apart and every other combo I could think of. Jeep used this type of quick-disconnect from 95-97 on their grand cherokee laredos.

There is a tool required to insert inside the connector to release it. It is a special one for Jeeps that is thinner than most others.

Ok, I see what you mean, however, I used the tool set at the military hobby shop and still to no avail. The manual says to squeeze the retainer clip with your fingers. No tool is necessary. I was thinking of just taking a dremel and 'very carefully' cutting the old quick connect head off, saving the retainer clip for future use. Kinda paranoid about that though with the cooler having oil in it and all.

How is destroying the line going to help you? Just get the tool and you won't have a problem.
