I have a 1996 Infiniti I30 and I have noticed that if I let the engine run for a while white smoke starts coming out from under the hood. It's not heavy smoke but a medium amount of smoke. I check the gauges and it says the car is not overheating. Tlhe smoke seems to be coming from the back part of the engine I would say probably in the middle or closer to the driver side. Any help with why my car would be smoking but not overheating.

Have you checked for coolant leaks on the engine? Any leaks?

Does it have an odor to it? Does it smell electrical or like coolant?

I hate to say it, but I need you to take it to a shop and let them smell the smoke. (I know that sounds crazy) However, someone that has been around cars can identify the odor. My guess is there is a coolant leak that you are not seeing, but since I'm not there, I can't be certain.

Do you have someone that would give you the 2 minutes needed to do this?
