Runs fine but it is hard to start when cold

Engine hard to start when cold but starts fine after. Any suggestions?

Hello,

There are several reasons why an engine is hard to start.

It could be due to a weak fuel pump, a faulty fuel pressure regulator that does not work properly when cold. Dirty throttle bore, worn out spark plugs, low engine compression.

The best course of action would be to take a look at each possibility and take appropriate action.
Like clean out the throttle body, check the fuel pressure when the engine is cold, change spark plugs etc.

This engine should have 56-62 PSI of fuel pressure.
