Ford Fiesta fuel problem

I recently bought an r reg fiesta 1.3. Recently the car has decided it does not want to tick over when warm and cuts out at junctions or at best the revs surge whilst stopped at lights etc. The fuel consumption has also deteriorated badly and I am only getting about 35 mpg on long journies. Any ideas?

Start with a full tune, check the fuel pressure, check the idle control motor and run a scan, this should help locate any problem, start here.
