Are there any possible causes for a starter to spin but not engage the flywheel, other than bad solenoid, missing teeth on flywheel, or low battery? This problem first occurred with a two year old starter. After installing a new starter the problem still exists.

A low battery can cause this. Lets follow this guide to help load test the battery.

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/car-battery-load-test

and if it tests bad;

If the battery is good the starer had gone bad again do you use AC Delco? I would.

Please run down these guides and report back
