My 96 chevy express 3500 5.7 starter problem.
the bolt broke I removed it, but a little piece of the block broke on the side of the hole. Now when I put in the new starter it seems to move a little and it will not start. Im wondering is the starter moving out of place because of the broken piece or something is wrong with the bolt?

It matters how much it moves. If the starter is spinning but not engaging, remove it to make sure the bendix is working. As far as the broken part, it sounds like you may need to repair it.
