After doing a tune up and replacing wire and spark plugs and cleaning the egr valve it still runs rough and has no power. I checked it at autozone and its reading a multiple misfire and egr valve. After looking at the exhaust I noticed the car is rich out the tail pipe. Can really smell gas from it. Could the egr valve really cause that? Or is there an underlined problem?

The egr valve's passages could be clogged and causing the missfire or the pintle inside could be bad, or you could have a bad injector/s or low compression, or a timing issue.I would suggest that you have it diagnosed by a shop, simply because there are so many things that could cause these issues and codes that you are experiencing.

With the high amount of gas smell coming out the back i'm going to try the cheap way and replace the egr and the 02 sensor to see if that helps if not then my last resort is a shop. Mainly because most of them want an arm and leg just to look at a car these days.
