1996 Cadillac Deville Transmission

This Cadillac has the north star v8 with an automatic transmission, I was driving an I between red lights the car would not shift into overdrive. I checked the fluid level an it was fine, red with no smell! I put a little transmission stop slip in it but it didn't help! What other things can I do to fix short of replacement?

There is no such thing as "Mechanic in a Can", in fact you can probably make matters worse in some cases. Your only route is to have it analyzed by a transmission specialist. If he determines it needs a rebuild, then that is the only way to go.
