If overdrive, does the problem go away in drive? I have an older roadmaster, it does the same thing in o/d with a load, I just downshift into drive. I don't ever use cruise control. I'm not a tranny person.

It is doing it in drive. It is not in overdrive, no cruise control.

We tried with manually changing the gear and it still did it.

If you don't think it is a tranny issue, how long since a tune-up? Any applicable trouble codes?
