Tell me the background. Did you check the oil pressure manually? What was the pressure?

If all is checked and good and no oil to lifters, you may have a bad or spun cam bearing not allowing oil to the top

Engine rebuilt about 4000 miles ago then lifters al of the sudden started chattering and I found 5 of the six on the odd side of the engine collapsed so I changed all of the lifters now they do not chatter as bad!

I think we discussed this before. Either a cam bearing is installed wrong or too much rtv was used and has clogged the galley in the block

Ya I think we did the cam bearings and the cam were put in by the machine shop and the guy that did it has been doing it for 45 years I think I might have RTV it it! And I have 4000 miles on the rebuild. If the bearings were put in wrong could it have made it 4000 miles or would I have had problems from the start?

It would have been from the start along with the rtv.

I think we did the cam bearings?

No matter what, you are talking about a tear down here to determine the issue.
