What is wrong with my windows

My front windows both stopped working at the same time they were down and couldn't go back up I checked the fuses and they were fine and I checked for relays which there wasn't any the only way I could get my windows back up is by putting a live from my battery to the switch on both sides for the car it only has from electric windows I just want to know what it could be before I start thinking about parts
Any help would be great

You will have to back probe the master switch pack and test for power there first, problem is we don't have wiring schematic for this car in the data base.

How exactly do you do that? I have electrical testers but I just do not know that the numbers they give mean I'm an engineer so like to understand what is going on
