I have a clicking /grinding noise from the front differential when in 4wd I removed front drive shaft and still has same noise the noise started after washing the vehicle I was wondering if an actuator could cause this problem I have checked the vacuum lines and also the fluid level in the differential the cv shafts are tight no play in them

Check your wheel bearings, try driving in a circle one way and if noise increases it's the opposite side from the direction you are going. Meaning if you are driving in a left circle the rh wheel bearing is making noise. Etc.
