Oder of Gas coming from Car

I have a 1995 Toyota Camry and lately every time I drive it I smell a strong oder of gas...recently the check engine light comes on sometime when I am driving, but it always goes off again

Have the computer scanned for code/s-you have a problem within the engine management system that caused the CEL to turn on-This is your starting point of diagnosis,finding out what's going on.
