What seals an oil pan on a 1995 SW1 Saturn?

(A repair shop told me that the oil pan doesn't use a gasket, and I'm confused).

That's true on a lot of oil pans, differential covers, and transmission pans. A special gasket sealer is used and is less likely to leak.

They use silicone sealer instead of a gasket it was sealed from the factory with saturn silicone.I.recommend using permatex ultra grey to reseal it thats what i used to seal my 1999 SL2 oil pan and timing cover and no leaks.
