The gear shift is stuck in park, I found a spring that looks like it may have come loose. It can be shifted if you reach into the shifter and move a piece manually. Could it just be this very small spring? And I am having a hard time locating another spring, could you tell me where I could order one from?

Separate parts like that I haven't seen sold separate you would have to by the whole shifter. You can look at a hardware store to see if you match something up. Yes a spring could be part or all your problem I fix the problem you found and go from there.
