I own a mitsubishi mirage de 97 recently it started leaking out all the anti coolant I literally have to keep toping it up as I drive. But I noticed it leaks out just below the timing belt area. What can I do to stop it?

I not positive, but the water pump is probaly timing belt driven and has gone bad, only fix is to replace the water pump if that is what is leaking, to find out for sure you may have to remove the covers to pinpoint leak.

Thanks @ protech1980, Can I fix it my self, I mean the whole water pump replacement process? I f yes please send me some video links and steps on how to do it.
Please I am at your mercy.

Finally, after opening the covers how can I tell that the water pump is broken? How does a broken one look like and how does it behave?

On the lower gear I aligned the circle on the gear with one at approximately 12 o'clock or slightly later, on the top it currently is around 3 o'clock and the rooter points to 11 o'clock not 4 o'clock where piston 1 is. The books I look suggest the top gear at around 11 oclock. Can you straighten me out so I can put the timing belt back on thankyou so very much dan bender
