1995 Ford Explorer sport spitting and sputtering on take off then smmoths out no check engine light is on

Started two days ago spitting and sputtering while idling the battery gauge goes up and down while its doing this when you take off it smooths out until the next stop. No check engine light has come on and the only thing ive tried so far is fuel injector cleaner

Check fuel pressure, battery condition and charging system.

I would still check for codes check charging system. You could try un pluging the alternator to see if it runs better
