I looked on the upper left rear of engine on cylinder head for the crankshaft position sensor and was unable to find it on a 95 Ford Contour xl, 4 cyl, front wheel drive. Could someone draw me a simple diagram where it is located?
Do you
have the same problem?

No it does not have a distributor and all the info I have says it goes in the head
Could you just send an enlarged diagram of the engine and where the sensor would be located?

Try this. On my 1996 they are located on the front of the engine at the transmission mounting, on the engine side. If you look between the exhaust and the bellhousing flange on the engine you can see it. It has one plug in and one bolt holding the sensor on and is a little tough to get at the bolt.

Thank you so much. I see it finally. Do you remember what size socket or wrench you need to remove that bolt?

We had brake lights coming on without stepping on the pedal and staying on when the car was shut off. We have a kill switch in the car now that solved the problem after investigating forever and constantly having a dead battery. We even put a new computer in, still did not solve problem
