1995 Ford Aerostar Remote key

Just bought this Aerostar van (fantastic condition). No remote key. I bought the proper remote online, but using the one/off ignition programming method, doesn't seem to do anything. Vehicle manual doesn't mention a remote. Is it possible this XLT Aerostar that has all the other bells and whistles did not have a remote system built into it? If so, can this be added by a dealer or someone else? And how expensive would that be? Thanks for any light you can shed on this subject.

There is a good possibility that it's not equipped with keyless entry. If you take your VIN number to the dealer, they can tell you if it has it and the cost to add it if it doesn't.
