First you have to determine if the fuel pump is running. Don't get hung up on the first thing you find missing, in this case, spark. Measure the voltage on the dark green / orange wire at the coil pack or any of the injectors. You should see 12 volts there for one second after turning on the ignition switch. What's important is if that 12 volts comes back during engine cranking.
