In the last week I have had a very heavy gas smell, can not find any leaks. Any ideas on what could be causing this?

has to be leaking somewhere. double check the entire area from front to rear

Just to add to this one you can add fuel leak dye to your gas tank and use a dye light to trace the leak back to its source.You may have a leak on top of your gas tank.That may be why you can't find the leak.
