I have a 1995 Chrysler Concorde and need to know if I can remove what I believe is the v belt without replacing it. There are two belts on the car, and the belt I am talking about is the belt that is on the ac compressor. The air has not worked in years, which I am okay with, even more so since my repair shop just told me it will cost over $500 to replace the compressor, but something is broken on the front of the gear that the belt sits in on the front of the compressor and it is making a horrible noise. I was told that I may be able to just cut the belt off if it does not drive anything else in the car. Is this okay to do?
