I had a head gasket replaced. There was still a leak. Now my water pump needs replacing. Is there a connection? Could testing the head gasket cause water pump problems?

I don't think one has anything to do with the other. I don't know why you replaced the headgasket, but, sometimes it is hard to tell where the coolant leak is coming from?

Are you saying if there was still a leak after the headgasket was fixed maybe that wasn't the original problem? Is this something that should be brought up to the mechanic?

I can't correct a professional that was able to see your vehicle. Over the internet, I was just trying to make suggestions? Maybe the other leak is coincidence? I don't know?
