My car wont start right away, it cranks and after a lot of cranking it will finally fire up. Once it has been started, it has no trouble starting up again shortly after it was turned off. Any ideas of what it could be? I'm thinking something with the fuel pump or something along those lines, but I also thing it could be the spark plugs? It's also winter, if that makes any difference, and I didn't have this problem when the temperature was warmer, but granted I didn't own the car very long when it was warmer.

Definitely try some new plugs. Go with platinum or iridium.

Do you try holding pedal at different positions when trying to start?

It didn't seem to effect it starting quicker, at least it wasn't a instant start after I press it down.

Any more ideas?
