I have a 94 toyota tercel. Very rough, shaky idle after warming. Stalls occasionally, esp. When I first go into reverse, or am sitting at a stoplight. Lights dim when not moving, brighten upon acceleration. Had error code 26 (fuel/air ratio high) changed O2 sensor, and code went away. New plugs and wires. Any ideas?

Check for vacuum leaks. Check timing.
Check alternator output and battery condition. Most stores like Pep Boys and autozone will do this for free.

I checked for vacuum leaks, adjusted timing(only slightly off), adjusted idle speed, changed distributor cap, checked several sensors. Still getting error code. No problem with battery or alternator.

Did you clear the code after performing the work? Also, did you have someone test the alternator and battery?
