I replaced the oil gasket but my van is still leaking oil and I is leaking by the harmonic balancer. I dontknow it the seal for the balancer is bad or if it is just the oil pan I would really appreciate if you could help me before I tare it all apart for no reason and if I am taking the right stuff off to replace the seal.

I TRY.I MAY SOUND STUPID!

RECENTLY I PUT A NEW "TRU-ROLLER" TIMING CHAIN IN MY JEEP

I HAVE OVER 100 PICS OF DOIN' IT!

I MAY SHOW YOU A FEW IN THIS ANSWER

1ST OFF---LETS WASH DOWN THE OILY AREA."PURPLE POWER" IN A SPRAY BOTTLE OR USE IT IN A PUMP UP SPRAYER LIKE I DO. LETS NOT DO THIS TO THE ELECTRONICS AND CONNECTORS, IF WE CAN HELP IT. IMMEDIATELY RINSE YOUR EXTERIOR PAINT, IF YOU GET IT ON IT!

LEAVE IT ON THERE 5-10 MINUTES. RINSE WITH A GARDEN HOSE SPRAYER (HARD SPRAY)

LET IT DRY GOOD

LET IT IDLE OR DRIVE IT, TILL IT LEAKS!

NOW. STOP. THROW SOME FLOUR ON THE POSSIBILITIES. BLOW IT OFF FROM A DISTANCE WITH YOUR AIR COMPRESSOR OR SHOP VAC (BLOWING)

CAN YOU SEE WHERE THE OIL IS COMING FROM NOW?

OTHER PICS. PULLING THE HARMONIC BALANCER. PULLING THE SEAL WITH MY SEAL PULLER. INSTALLING A REPAIR SLEEVE ONTO MY BALANCER (COVERS THE GROOVE FROM 36 YEARS OF THE SEAL WEARING ON IT)

. YES, I HAD A LEAK AROUND MY BALANCER SEAL. IT WAS SLIGHT. FIGGERED I'D DO A "COMBO DEAL", WHEN IT WAS TIME.I KNEW THAT WHEN I PUT THE NEW TIMING GEARS AND CHAIN IN. IT WOULD GET FIXED THEN!
