My cars engine dies when decelerating when clutch is pressed in.

As I approach a stop sign, pushing in on the clutch, my engine dies. If I tap the accelerator at that time it idles fine. Any other time and the engine operates perfectly, it's just when I press in on the clutch when my rpm's are up.

You might try clenaing your throttle plate an diac vlave, they may be sticking due to the rpms going so low when you cmoe to a stop. They get oil on it. Use choke cleaner and clean both sides and wipe stuff out if you can it will be oily. If you don't know what a throttle plate is go to tune up on the diy section it will show it. Make sure to hook air duct back up before starting and it will start h ard after doing this.

WOW, you were right on the money with your suggestion. I went to the DIY section under tune-up, located the items you referred to and went to work. It all cleaned up nicely and now the engine operates as it is supposed to. When coming down from higher rpm's when the clutch is applied the engine reverts to idle level. Thanks for the guidance.
