I was driving one day and my 1994 ford Aerostar 3.0 v6 suddenly lost all power and would NOT start after. Took a spark plug out checked spark, no spark. Then I go to the coil and take the plug off the distributer with other end of plug wire still connected to the coil, I stuck a bolt in and again checked spark and there is none is the coil bad? Could it be a crank sensor? What next step should I do to get closer to understanding what is wrong

Could be a module, pick up coil or a coil. This is assuming that the distributor is turning. Get a shop to at least verify the failure for you.

Ignition module? And I would take it in but I'm real strapped for cash. But in your opinion you would believe it is the ign module, pick up coil / coil

Ford recommended replacing the module, pick up and coil as an assembly for this failure back in the day.
