1994 Chevrolet Silverado Limited Slip Rear End Truck Take Off Locks Solid

i have a limited slip rear end in my truck and when i take off the rear end locks up solid and im driving strait head when i back up its fine for about 20 feet and it does it again why?
details i took the cover off the rear end and took of both tires in the back i can spin the axles freely and when it stoped i looked inside the pinion gear the paddel for the limeted slip was caught on the gear can i take that part out and run the rear end like that cause im one straped for cash right now can i run it like that

i do not reccomend this. the rear end needs all the parts to function. without all the parts, more damage can result.
